Job Description
At the direction of the Executive Director of Major & Planned Giving, implement donor engagement and marketing strategies, oversee compliance with Federal and state level regulations for administration of life income gifts, manage a portfolio of 80-100 planned giving donors and donor prospects, and collaborate with divisional and campus-wide colleagues to grow planned gifts. Supervise the Associate Director of Planned Giving, including overseeing portfolio development and management, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies for the Associate Director’s portfolio.

Essential Functions:
 
  • Donor Engagement: plan, conduct, and appropriately report personal visits with donors, with a focus on those most likely to make planned gifts, to qualify, cultivate and solicit them for annual, planned and major gifts; meet specific goals related to acquiring new members for the Old West Society.
  • Marketing: create, collaborate and implement strategies for raising awareness of planned giving; manage relationship, negotiations, and creative decision making with vendor on the college’s planned giving website and contracted campaign marketing efforts.
  • Gift Administration: serve as primary departmental resource for charitable gift annuity administration, including comprehensive understanding of charitable gift annuities, use of PG Calc software, and creation of CGA illustrations and contracts for gift officers as needed. Work with Financial Operations, vendors, and regulators to ensure compliance with Federal and state level regulations related to the CGA program. Work with estate attorneys, executors and other relevant parties on settlement of estates and planned gifts after the donors’ death.
  • Collaboration within department, on campus and in the community: serve as a planned giving resource for staff; work closely Dickinson Fund, Alumni Relations, Donor Engagement and other Advancement staff on Old West Society events as appropriate. Serve on campus-wide committees or subcommittees to represent the Office of Advancement and/or planned giving department; as needed assist with external committees including reunion volunteers, the Trout Gallery or other groups where planned giving representation is requested.
  • Supervise Associate Director of Planned Giving: Serve as the direct supervisor for the associate director of planned giving, including managing the daily supervision, professional development, and individual performance.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree

Preferred Education: Master’s Degree or additional certification/study related to fundraising preferred
