Job Description
The Sustainability Projects Leader position is a one-year, full-time, hourly post-baccalaureate position. The Sustainability Projects Leader will manage three of Dickinson’s living laboratory programs: Dickinson’s biking programs including The Handlebar Bike Cooperative, The Hive beekeeping cooperative, and the Dickinson Free xChange. Functions include supervising and mentoring CSE interns, recruiting and managing student volunteers, coordinating operations of these programs and events, monitoring and ordering supplies, and keeping workspaces organized and clean. The Sustainability Projects Leader will also assist as needed with other programs of the Center for Sustainability Education.

Essential Functions:
 

 

  • Supervise, mentor and evaluate CSE interns related to biking, The Hive and the Free xChange and assist in the coordination of professional development opportunities for the student interns and volunteers.
  • Manage the Biking @ Dickinson programs including the Green Bikes program, red bike maintenance, biking-related events and outreach and The Handlebar Bike Cooperative. Supervise, schedule and assist student interns and volunteers, manage parts inventory, order new supplies as needed, and keep the shop, storage and maintenance spaces clean and orderly.
  • Manage The Hive cooperative including beekeeping, campus pollinator gardens, honey harvesting and events and outreach. Maintain the bee hives, schedule and assist student interns and volunteers, manage inventory, order new supplies as needed, and keep storage spaces, equipment and hive enclosure clean and orderly.
  • Manage Dickinson Free xChange including clothing, food, goods and book xchanges. Supervise, schedule and assist student interns and volunteers, manage space and overall inventory, order new supplies as needed, and oversee projects, programs and related events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support co-curricular programs of the Center for Sustainability Education including event data collection, trainings and workshops, program marketing, social media and event set up.
