Carlisle, PA – You only turn 50 once, and for Carlisle Events, that 50th anniversary celebration kicked off in spectacular fashion with Spring Carlisle 2024, April 17-21 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds.  This year’s event was driven by Hemmings and welcomed nearly 100,000 guests to Carlisle from around the world.  They came to Carlisle to buy cars within the car corral, they came to Carlisle to shop for parts and more within the automotive flea market, they came to Carlisle to meet up with friends, and they came to Carlisle to celebrate a milestone.  In all, the collective energies within the Carlisle fence line helped solidify exactly why this event and others at Carlisle have been around for so long!

Gates opened bright and early on Wednesday, with the crowds steadily picking up into the afternoon. Thursday’s turnout was even more impressive as the shopping frenzy sped towards Friday and the weekend.  In addition to a nice influx of guests on Thursday, the day also marked the start of the two-day collector car auction powered by Carlisle Auctions (more on that below).

Along with the great mix of vendors small and large within the automotive flea market, Spring Carlisle also hosted a robust Manufactures Midway.  The midway welcomed some of the top names in the hobby, including Hemmings, American Collectors Insurance, Amsoil, the AACA Museum, Adams Premium Car Care products, CPI Truck, and more.  These vendors, along with dozens more drew shoppers in with quality displays, the chance to buy items in person to save on shipping costs, and best of all, offered show-only pricing.

As weekdays transitioned to the weekend, Friday’s guests dodged a few raindrops, while Mother Nature changed her tune Saturday and Sunday, offering two great weather days in conjunction with last-minute shopping for locals who cruised in to be part of the fun.  In fact, everyone who came to Carlisle had fun with the classic car display on stage by way of the AACA Car Club, the ARMO Hot Products Showcase in front of the stage, the all-new 50th Anniversary timeline display wall in Building T, and even a memorabilia room, also located in Building T.

Carlisle Auctions also played a role in Spring Carlisle, hosting its two-day classic and collector car auction April 18-19 at the Carlisle Expo Center.  With 400+ lots crossing the block, the auction saw more than 50% of all consignments sell, with the top five sales amassing $465,600, with the top seller a 1980 Porsche 911 ($101.00) and sales two through four being Corvettes.  Number five stayed in the Chevy family as a 1970 Chevelle logged $88,480.

While Spring Carlisle is a wrap for 2024, Carlisle Events sets its sights on the next event, plus next year’s spring show.  Up next is the annual international showcase of cars and trucks as part of the Carlisle Import & Performance Nationals (May 10-11).  As Spring Carlisle 2025 goes, the event is planned for April 23-27, with the auction happening April 24-25.  Complete details on all things car show related, including the ability to buy spectator tickets in advance at a discounted rate can be found at CarlisleEvents.com.
